About Trig Point Fire

Fire safety advice from someone who sees what happens when it fails.

Trig Point Fire is a fire safety consultancy providing fire risk assessments, fire door inspections, fire marshal training and event fire safety support. Our work is built on a simple principle: fire safety exists to perform on the worst day a building will ever have, not to satisfy a file.

Why Trig Point Fire exists

I'm Mykal, founder of Trig Point Fire and a serving operational firefighter with over five years' front-line experience.

On the fireground, the failures that matter are rarely complicated. A fire door wedged open. A missing intumescent seal. A cable run punched through a compartment wall and never fire-stopped. Staff who don't know whether to stay put or get out. Each one is visible long before the fire, and each one is exactly what a thorough assessment should catch.

Trig Point Fire exists to close that gap. We assess buildings the way a fire will test them: how smoke will travel, where compartmentation will give way, and whether people can actually get out.

How we work

Operational eyes, professional discipline.

Every assessment combines real-world fire experience with a structured methodology. Our fire risk assessments follow the methodology set out in BS 9792:2025, the British Standard for fire risk assessment in housing. That gives you findings grounded in how fires actually develop, not just how regulations are worded.

Records that stand up to scrutiny.

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, responsible persons must record their fire risk assessment in full, including who carried it out. Our reports are clear, evidenced with photographs, and written to be defensible if they are ever examined by an enforcing authority, insurer or court.

Actions you can act on.

We don't bury you in jargon. Every report ends with a prioritised action plan, so you know what needs doing first and why.
